Fiji Beachouse backpackers - Accomodation rates and transport prices

ACCOMMODATION RATES: (Prices are for the period April 1st 2007 to March 31st 2008) Prices / Rates below The Beachouse was booked out by a Film Production Crew (ITV made "Love Island") in 2006 for five months. The Beachouse is now taking bookings AS NORMAL. The Office is open till 10pm everynight for late arrivals.
The Accommodation price includes use of some sporting equipment and some daily excursion tours. *The rates include a free backpacker breakfast & afternoon tea daily. The cafe is open for all other mealtimes.*

Volleyball on the beach	Low priced activities Adjacent to the Beachouse, Sana (a local villager) operates his own business and offers outer-reef snorkelling (snorkel hire) and fishing trips. Sana also hires out bicycles at reasonable rates. Wheelbarrow bar is a fun activity held irregularly depending on demand and consists of putting chilled beer bottles ("Fiji babies") in an ice-filled wheelbarrow & doing a pub crawl over the property with happy hour priced beer. This event is not taken too seriously. We also (tide permitting) run sunset cruises in the boat/runabout and do the same thing with an esky (cooler).	4 hour hike to Navola falls - recommended! OTHER ACTIVITIES

For those who do not want to just laze on the beach or curl up in a hammock with a book we have plenty of other possible activities for you. Apart from those mentioned above as free (inclusive in daily tarrif) activities.

Visiting the local village school and a trek to the Korolevu Waterfall are highly recommended.
SCUBA diving is also available nearby and in the Beqa Lagoon.
In 2001 we commenced trekking expeditions to Navola Falls. This is a 4 hour round trip hike from the Beachouse and is a "must do" activity for those guests who want a good bush-walk.
Going further a field, you can take a Suva trip - visit the museum, see where the coups took place or take in a movie (very reasonable & clean modern theatres).
Sigatoka is a good day trip for those wanting to visit the sand dunes or the Tavuni Hill Fort or the local fruit market.

GETTING TO THE BEACHOUSE:

There is a local bus service to the Beachouse approximately every hour (during daylight hours) from Lautoka,Nadi or Suva. Simply ask a local where the nearest bus stop is (one opposite the airport).

The bus trip takes approximately 2 hours from Nadi and costs about F$9.00. Where possible, try to use Express buses as they stop less often, Stage buses stop when ever somebody rings the bell & this can make the journey slower.

All the buses stop at the Beachouse (about 40 minutes after the Sigatoka stop when coming from Nadi). Mini-vans will also offer to transport you, but generally cost about $12.00 per person.

The buses drop you at the entrance to the Beachouse and it is only a 2 minute walk to the Resort and the Beach. Make sure you arrive at the Beachouse before 10pm when the office closes. If you arrive in Nadi after about 8.30pm (last bus from airport 6pm), we suggest that you email us beforehand to discuss other transport options or you can stay a night in Nadi and then travel to the Beachouse the next day.

Some possible budget overnighters include: Nadi Bay Hotel, Travellers Beach Resort, Whitehouse, Horizon Beach, Club Fiji, or the Nadi Hotel (in the centre of Nadi near the bus station) .... there are also many other suitable hostels/hotels in and around Nadi.
